My Bio

Its August 2021 and I'm finally back from a two year art-block.

New digs, new head-space, new muse, new medium - oh creativity, I've missed you my friend!

Since Sydney is struggling with an outbreak, my state is clamping down on the foot traffic. Lockdown 6.0, here we go... Seems like all I got is free time these days. Its really hurt my mental health, honestly we're all struggling but the thing I needed to keep my head up just wasn't there for me anymore. BUT, apparently all it took was seeing a close friend feel inspired again and it got me too. I'm finally back, these last couple of weeks have been giving me vibes and I'm finally drawing again. If you get it, you get it - I needed this so bad.

I also managed to revive my Playstation4 after it died 8 months ago in the middle of hard times, got my hands on the first batch of essentials to teach myself a new craft and my roommate just gifted me their old Samsung Galaxy Tablet which got me looking at Digital Art programs. Tragically, my Wacom Tablet got beaten up when I moved house over 2020's Christmas and I couldn't justify finding the money to replace it.

Gosh, its the little things isn't it? I'm working on fixing up a hobby room, its just been sitting there since January - I didn't want to use it so I couldn't motivate myself. Damn but I've started on it, I haven't read a book for leisure longer than I haven't drawn but the second I got in there and unpacked the shelf, I was drooling over my small library of fantasy novels lmao. When the room is ready, I'll be messing around with clay and paint till I can get my hands on some old dolls in my parent's storage. I am so excited for this - beyond reason.

Its gonna take me a bit to organise myself, but I'm telling you now I WILL be back on here, posting batches of submissions every other week with the new sketches, digital OCs and maybe even a photo or two. Just like old times... gosh I missed being active on here.

Its 2021, I'm alive and stuck in my house. Lockdown sucks, but kind of feels like my forever so I'm just floating through it with no complaints. Sleep schedules feel optional at this point, I'm the only one in my social circle without routine commitments so I just wait until somebody wakes up and pass out when I can't keep my eyes open anymore. That's not good - I know, and I won't let it last much longer. My art is still recovering from creative paresthesia but she's coming back. Just colouring old drawings for now, keeping it mellow while I collect materials and mediums for Doll Repainting - an artform I'm keen on exploring. Keep well and be safe everyone :)

Dear Riley, its 2021 - how are you?

Well, I just updated my bio on here for 2021 and drifted down into old journal posts and fuck me... I should not have been given access to the internet throughout high school. I made an effort to delete some of the more nonsensical stuff and honestly, I plan to delete all of them but some of them triggered nostalgia and mother issues so I just want to leave them buried there a little longer. A potentially unhealthy decision, but I'm an adult and I can handle it. I don't imagine many, if any people read my journal entries on this website so, it feels pretty harmless for now. I think some day I'm going to write a sort of autobiography-adjacent piece and post it on the internet for anyone to read. I imagine it would be both therapeutic and humbling for me. My adolescence is well behind me now but the more disappointing memories pop in now and then. Easy to deal with but their still frustrating visits. Life is better nowadays - minus the pandemic of course. Well, we'll see how
